Lavender & Sage Wedding Colors (Summer Palette with Hex Codes)

Lavender is the main dress color, a step deeper than lilac so it survives summer sun. Sage is the accent in foliage and ties. Cream is the neutral, slate is the suit, and pewter is the cool metal. This is a common summer combination that looks grey when both colors are too pale. The lavender here still has purple in it, and the sage still has green, so a photo can tell them apart.

In-season flowers

Lavender (the herb) as a scent and a spike, plus stock, lisianthus, and roses in a muted purple. Sage from olive and ruscus. Cream roses for filler. No bright purple hydrangea and no yellow. Both break the range. If lavender the herb wilts in heat, use the color in lisianthus and keep a little herb at the bouquet handle.

Venue and lighting

Summer noon light washes lavender toward grey and sage toward yellow-grey. This hex is darker than a spring lilac for that reason. Still, take the swatch outside at the ceremony hour. Pewter flatware in direct sun is a hot highlight. It is fine on a table and bad as a sequined dress.

Colors to avoid with this palette

Royal purple, kelly green, and warm gold. Gold fights the pewter and yellows the sage.

FAQ

Is lavender too cool next to sage?
Only if the sage is blue-green. Use a yellow-sage swatch, like #9AAD8A, not a blue eucalyptus.
What suits work besides slate?
Light grey for a casual afternoon. Navy pulls the lavender bluer and is the second choice, not the first.
What do I send the florist?
Lavender #A99BC4 as the petal target, Sage #9AAD8A as greenery, Cream #F7F4EE as filler. Tell them no purple darker than the dress.
